Environmentally friendly water enamels comply with the increasing demands of customers and legislature. A series of products bear the environmental label "Blue Angel" and are certified in accordance with DIN EN 71-3 for use on children's toys.


Solvent-based enamels

Alkyd-resin enamels have proven their worth and have become widely accepted as the successor the traditional oil varnish. Caparol has been developing and optimising its solvent-base enamels since the early 1990 in order to meet the very highest processing and quality demands. All products comply with the VOC-Decopaint guideline.

With the Capalac brand professionals opt for a solvent-based product range with a wide variety of convincing advantages. Benefit from the classic painter's enamel, its broad diversity and many fields of application!

Fast-drying, rust inhibitive priming coat with high adhesion on iron and steel and wash primer on aluminium, copper, zinc (galvanised surfaces), unplasticized (rigid) PVC, wood and derived timber products.

  • Fully-fledged anti-corrosive primer on iron and steel (according to German standard DIN 18363).
  • Fast-drying, already recoatable after 3 hours (white and pastel tints) up to 6 hours (when intensively tinted) with all alkyd resin enamels.
  • Excellent adhesion to many substrates.

High solid, anti-corrosive metal protective enamel for priming, intermediate and finishing coats. For exterior and interior use. Certified corrosion protection for steel and galvanised steel according to DIN EN ISO 12944-6.

Water-soluble enamels

The professional range of water-soluble enamels was developed by Caparol in the seventies and has been continuously optimised in terms of performance, covering power and application properties.

Water-soluble enamels are increasingly gaining market share. A generally increasing awareness for environmentally friendly and non-hazardous products and the legislation that this has brought about is consistently driving this development

At Caparol, the specialist can choose from two aqueous coating systems "Capacry" and "Capalac Aqua Alkyd" Both ranges guarantee professional quality and the latest state of the art.

The Capacryl program is the product of choice for odour-sensitive areas such as hospitals, nursery schools, schools, offices and interior residential areas. The "Capalac Aqua Alkyd" range encompasses water-emulsified PU-alkyd-resin enamels for interior as well as exterior application with all the benefits of classic solvent-based enamels.

For adhesion promoting priming coats on existing paint coatings, enamel coats, wood, zinc/galvanised surfaces, unplasticized (rigid) PVC, aluminium, copper and many other problematical substrates before applying acrylic or alkyd resin enamels. Do not use alkyd resin enamels on zinc/galvanised surfaces.

High-grade intermediate and finishing coats on primed, dimensionally stable wood component parts, primed metals and unplastizised/rigid PVC, in the exteriors and interiors.
