At its location in Schleswig-Holstein, far in the north of Germany, the Original Meldorfer® factory has been producing high-quality handmade flat facing bricks from natural sands and minerals since 1979. Inspired by nature and using traditional artisan methods, the unique designs of our products lend a special, one-of-a-kind quality to any building.

BEAUTIFUL
From traditional brick optics to modern designs: Original Meldorfer® lend every façade a unique and authentic appearance. With near unlimited customizable solutions, architects can create bricks in any style, color and format to match their exact needs. Their unique technical properties and low static weight allow them to be used on façades and interiors of all types, from ETICS, monolithic build to monument conservation.
SUSTAINABLE
Made from natural sands and minerals, Original Meldorfer® are biocide free and certified eco-friendly by the Blue Angel. Unlike clinker brick slips, Orginal Meldorfer® are dried at 70°C and not fired at 1.000°C. They are also real lightweights and therefore much more climate-friendly in transport. This adds up: All in all, Original Meldorfer® have a 60% smaller CO2 footprint than traditional clinker brick slips.
DURABLE
Original Meldorfer® objects have proven to remain in stellar condition since the brand’s founding in 1979. Due to the protective effect against cracking, algae and color-fading you won’t have to bother with the typical follow-up costs you may experience with other coatings. Frost- and impact-resistance further protect your investment. The nonflammable characteristic of Original Meldorfer® veneers make them a safe choice for any façade.
ECONOMICAL
With Original Meldorfer®, ambitious projects can be realized even under tight budgets. Overall, they offer a cost advantage of about 20% over clinker brick slips. With a weight of 5 kg/m², Original Meldorfer® are 80% lighter than their clinker counterparts and therefore much faster and easier to install. Time-consuming dowelling, heavy bonding and additional fire protection measures, which clinker brick slips often require, are not required. This saves time and substantially reduces construction costs.
Original Meldorfer® products can be used on almost any substrate. They have a low weight and are very thin when applied in comparison to solid bricks and brick slips, meaning less time spent on handling and lower costs. They are suitable for use on façade insulation systems, ventilated curtain wall façades, monolithic structures, combination façades and interior areas. What’s more, Original Meldorfer® products can be used on any insulation system, regardless of the insulation material thickness, and are perfect for applying to panels made from mineral wool, EPS or polyurethane.
